JAMES A LAMBERT JR
The Founder
James is a native born son of Richmond, Virginia and is no stranger to managing life's transitions. After graduating from Highland Springs High School in 2003, he attended Hampton University on full scholarship only to be expelled after 3 semesters (with a 3.3 GPA). He transferred to J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College for a semester and moved back down to the Hampton Roads area in an attempt to finish his bachelors. While approaching his final semester, life threw James another curve ball and he joined the U.S. Army in order to avoid homelessness. James served his country honorably for 3.5 years, earned the rank of Sergeant, 4 Commendation Medals, 4 Achievement Medals and was the Distinguished Honor Graduate of Warriors Leaders Course. After returning home from a deployment to Iraq, James was hit head on by a drunk driver, which caused his car to burn to the ground and he developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result. He returned to Virginia 2 months later, enrolled back in school at Old Dominion University and graduated with his Bachelors in Economics within two semesters. He returned to Richmond in 2014 and graduated with his Masters in Real Estate in the Fall of 2016 and Masters in Finance in the Spring of 2017. He founded Felons First Housing on 12/31/2018 after a discussing with associates about how to best improve the community and the world. James has been blessed to have a multitude of life experience, many of which are institutionally denied to felons. It is having those experiences that have crafted James into the leader that he is today. He has made it his life's mission to creating an organization that will break the barrier of institutional discrimination and raise as many people as possible into true leaders.
